Scotland v. Ireland, Nov 1st, Pettycur Bay, Fife

Promoter: James Graham (Fighting Fit gym)

Hil and Kenny both fought at very short notice (48hrs) to provide support for a show hindered by a large pull out rate - despite this, it was well run and well attended, congratulations to James Graham for running a smooth operation under trying circumstances.

Hilary Mack vs. Leanne Philipps (Fighting Fit)

Hil took the fight knowing she was not fit enough to maintain a good work rate throughout the fight, so decided to try for early domination of her opponent in the first round, unloading strong boxing, scoring heavily with left hooks, almost knocking Leanne out. Clearly the stronger of the two, Hil maintained the pressure, but began to run out of steam in the subsequent rounds, allowing Leanne to rally and return fire. Hil's boxing proved to be her strength in this fight, and she took the fight with a points win over her game opponent.

Kenny Ho vs. Paul Shaw (Fighting Fit)

Kenny showed little signs of the nerves that had preceded his first fight last May, despite this being his first five rounder, against a much more experienced fighter (7-8 fights). Paul came out for the first very quickly, driving Kenny back into his corner, Kenny replied with fast accurate boxing, sending Paul to the floor for a standing count, Paul came flying back in pulling Kenny into the clinch, landing a few knees. Kenny threw Paul back and followed up with a cracking boxing and high kick combo, catching Paul in the temple with a high right, sending him sprawling. The ref intervened, and 58 seconds into the first round, Kenny was declared winner by K.O. An excellent performance from both Caledonian fighters, at short notice, but in good spirit.
