The Trip

We arrived on the Thursday, got ourselves to the hotel and sorted out some food at the Jersey Gardens Mall, a handy 5 minute walk from our accomodation. Friday saw us exploring New York City. Saturday was the opening ceremony followed by San Da and Kickboxing. Sunday was Sambo and Muay Thai. Monday saw a return to NYC. Tuesday we headed home. A great time was had by all.

Sightseeing

We visited New York City a few times during our stay and took in the Empire State, Ground Zero, the Staten Island Ferry, Hooters, Yankees stadium, Broadway to name but a few...

Fighting

The competition opened on the 4th, but we weren't on until the 5th. The 5th proved to be a long day with the squad on site from 10am or so and not fighting until about 6 hours later. Strong technique from the Caley squad meant that despite the shinguards and head protection, 4 of our opponents were left unable to continue including 1 by KO resulting in 3 medals being brought home - 1 gold and 2 silver; a creditable result from 6 fighters.

Partying

Following the event, the inevitable happened. Beer & pizza :-) It was a great way to end a long day. Thanks to Cool Hearts Muay Thai for making us feel at home.
